Throne of Glass

Throne of glass is the first book in the Throne of Glass series written by Sarah J. Maas.

The book, by far, is the best book I have read. Sarah is an amazing author and anyone who reads young adult fantasy books has to read it. There is so much to be said about this book. Sarah managed to be original in every aspect of the book.

The main character-

Celaena Sardothien in the best and most original character I came across. She is an assassin, the best in the world. Managed to survive a year in a death camp after being betrayed by a mystery person yet to be revealed, and captured.

The story begins when she meets with the crown prince- Dorian, and the Captain of the Guard- Chaol. There they offer her a bargain, she have to participate and win in a contest, if she wins she will become the king's champion (meaning- the king's assassin) and after four years she will be released and have her freedom but if she lose she will be transported back to the death camp and will die there. It is the first book I've read that the two strong guys are afraid and wary of the girl.

In the first pages of the book the author present her as serious and extremely deadly but Sarah did something that not a lot of authors can't do. She somehow managed to create an 18 year old character that is so mysterious, so skilled and extremely dangerous but even so she managed to pass to the readers that Celaena at the end of the day is just an 18 year old. Every once in a while you get another piece of her past, little shards of memories that should help us know more about her but it is never enough.

The world Sarah created, the world Celaena came from is brutal and horrible, full of death and pain. But celaena is like a light in the darkness, she is funny and sarcastic, doesn't take crap from anyone, strong and very brave, which is funny because her profession is death. She manages to surprise everyone with her behavior and her approach on everything. For example: "We all bear scars, mine just happen to be more visible then most" – Celaena.

I loved this book, you can never know what will happen next, who will she end up with and so much more. Every time the author reveals something, twice as much questions as I had before form in my head.

I have much more to say but the bottom line is…. Read This Book!
